Included here are some of the most common questions asked when people are planning a funeral. For additional information, please visit our Reference Page , Pre-Planning Page or the Funeral Consumers Alliance web site.
Q: Does Caring Caskets arrange funerals?
A: No, Caring Casket only sells products such as urns, caskets, vaults and monuments. We are not a funeral service facility. For recommended Funeral Directors in the Northwest Arkansas area, please see our Funeral Directors page on this site.
Q: What is the function of Funeral Directors?
A: They are caregivers, listeners, supporters and administrators. Funeral Directors make the arrangements for the transportation of the body and assist loved ones in making all of the necessary arrangements for the services. Funeral Directors are also trained in helping people cope with grief associated with the loss of a loved one.
Q: Do you have to have a Funeral Director to bury the dead?
A: Regulations vary by state and it is a very difficult and time-consuming process for an individual to undertake. Check with one of your local funeral homes to understand the regulations in your area.
Q: How much do funerals cost?
A: The cost varies based on the type of arrangements (such as cremation vs. burial) and the cost of the caskets, monuments, service. On average, consumers spend approximately $6000 on funerals. For help in pre-planning, please see our Pre-Planning Guide.
